POPULAR Manly forward George Rose admits uncertainty over his future is becoming a distraction.
Having forced his way back into the Sea Eagles’ top squad, Rose now has to sort out his future with his contract due to expire at the end of this season.
“I think it’s always in the back of your mind,” said Rose.
“Unless you’re signed for the following year and you have that security, it’s always something you think about a little bit because the season does go pretty quickly.
“What round is it? We’re almost halfway through the season.
“It can start to play on my mind but I know all I can do is play good football and I’ll leave it up to my manager to do all the hard yards off the field.
“I’ve just got to do my best on the field.”
The Sea Eagles are in a good position going into the bye after taking a point of the Storm in Melbourne and outpointing Canberra at the weekend.
“Since I’ve been back, it feels like all I’ve done is defend the tryline,” said Rose. “But it’s something to be proud of because all the defending we have been doing … we are letting some points in but we are defending quite well.
“Ideally, we’d rather be attacking the other team’s tryline.”
