HE grew up waving a Parramatta flag on the hill and now flashy winger Ken Sio wants to be part of Ricky Stuart’s new order at the Eels.
The 22-year-old scored both Parra’s tries in Sunday’s loss to South Sydney and has a year to run on his contract after escaping being one of 12 players sacked by coach Stuart this month.
“I played juniors at Wenty, I used to go to games with my dad,” Sio, who may play for Samoa in the World Cup, tells RLW.
“It’s been tough but also, coming through as young player, it’s a bit of a wake-up call. Every time you put on that jersey, you’ve to play with everything that you have inside you, with all your heart.
“Stick has to make changes to move the club forward and he’s the coach. We’re all behind Stick.
“I’ve got next year (here). It will be good. It will be heaps different.
“It’s a rollercoaster at the moment but we’ve got to stick together and brothers and spend more time together at training instead of at home.”
